1. Take Up a Sport or Exercise Activity.
This is one of my mediums for releasing stress or tension, exercising and yet still creating a means to network. I play tennis and I also enjoy dancing as some may have noticed 😂
2. Take breaks at intervals.
All Work and No Play stresses my mind. For those blessed with vacation hours, make use of them. If you don’t have that opportunity, you can utilize your weekends by observing staycations or going on mini road trips as long as they are well within your budget. Pick a day and do nothing but your favorite hobbies, which could be watching movies, reading books, etc.
3. Go outside for a walk.
I know we tend to have busy schedules, but please make it a habit to get your walking shoes and step outside for a breath of clean, fresh air. This can be for a short or long walk or even an outdoor picnic.
4. Get enough sleep and rest.
This is easier said than done for me. I personally still struggle with this as I get really active at night time, especially when there’s a lot to get done in a short period of time. Sleep deprivation can cause mental stress, lapses and frustration and negatively impact your physical health.
Regardless of our busy schedules, we should try to maintain a regular sleeping pattern in order to help feel better and refreshed.
5. Light a scented candle.
I’m a Sucker for scented candles and I light one any opportunity I get! The smell eases my stress and calms me.
There are calming scents such as lavender and frankincense which according to research lowers anxiety and depression.
